Born and raised on the west side of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jessica

gained her grade-school education from the MSD of Wayne Township and now studies at Butler University. Jessica was exposed to music and art at a very young age. Jessica’s parents often found her watching Disney’s Fantasia and or The Little Drummer Boy whilst playing in paints. Jessica’s siblings were participating in the Ben Davis Marching Band as a trumpeter and a color guard member and Jessica was in the stands with her parents cheering her brother and sister on. As primary school progressed, so did Jessica’s love for drawing and her imagination was unleashed. Jessica would often be caught drawing instead of doing classwork due to her uncapped imagination. She created hundreds of little characters and attempted to write her own stories with the aid of her favorite video games and movies. Jessica also enjoyed participating in her music classes and even gained interest to start an after-school elementary choir. Once the time for middle school came around, Jessica chose to start studying the upright bass in the Chapel Hill Orchestra. During her middle school years, she became the principal bassist and also participated in the art club and showcased her artwork at the township’s Arts Alive! program.

Once Jessica reach Ben Davis High School, Jessica was placed in the highest orchestra as only a freshman. Jessica remained in the Ben Davis Symphony Orchestra until her senior year of high school and also participated in the ISSMA solo and ensemble events each year of her high school career, receiving gold plaques in ensemble and gold medals in solos. Jessica won a full scholarship for the Indiana University Summer Music Clinic (IUSMC) in 2014, and half scholarships to IUSMC in 2015 and 2016. Eventually becoming the freshman classes’ cadet teacher, section leader, and orchestra student helper, Jessica’s professional life had become engulfed by music and she became inspired to educate the growing youth in the beauty of music.
